Animals found indigenous to another continent
- Black boned, black skinned and black meated chickens originated in SE Asia. Many uses of this same Asiatic melanotic chicken are currently shared by Mayan language groups. Folk medicine used in Guatemala uses this chicken in similar medicinal traits to the Chinese (Carl Johannessen)

Art
- Stone monuments, resembling Buddha’s at La Democracia, near the Pacific coast of the southern Guatemala, are known as ‘Chinese’ by some locals mainly due to their epicanthic eyes. The locals are very proud of these stones, which stand in their town square yet their origin is a mystery to them – (Catherine Skinner)
- Statue of Buddha sitting in the lotus position in small museum at the Mayan ruins in Guatemala ·Bass relief of a Chinese man dressed with a tunic and Chinese head dress and long beard discovered in Tikal, one of important Mayan cities in the middle of the Jungle of Peten, Guatemala. This city was lost for a while after being abandoned by the Mayas sometime before Columbus arrival. (L. Fernando Requena)
- A pre-Columbian small terracotta figure of a two humped camel ridden by what appears to be a Chinese figure bought in Guatemala
- A jade ring bought from a Guatemalan jeweller who said the stone was grandfather stone, meaning an old relic from his forebears. On examination by a US jeweller it was found to be true jade of a type found in Western China – Thad Daly
- Statue of Buddha sitting in the lotus position in small museum at the Mayan ruins in Guatemala – Giovanna Caruso
- Carving from Colombia – A reader sent us a photo of a stone figure that was found on the Pacific Coast of Colombia in an indigenous tomb. He points out that this seems to look more like a Chinese figure as the idigenous Colombians did not have beards. Can anyone shed any light on this? Venezuela
Maps
- Venezuela shown on maps before Europeans set sail – Cantino (1502), Waldseemueller (1507).
- Orinoco shown on Martellus (1489).
- Scientific American, Feb 2005 article on Scientific American, Feb 2005 article on Helicobacter Pylori (the stomach ulcer bacteria) mentions a unique cluster of the “East Asian” s1c strain inland along the Orinoco River. Otherwise, the coastal areas of South America all show the Iberian strain. The authors of the article were confident the presence in an Amazonian population of the East Asian strain of H. Pylori in Venezuela pre-dated European contact and that H. Pylori “can better elucidate the history of population movements than can studies of human mitochondrial DNA.” They also concluded that the presence of s1c is a remnant of Bering Straight migration. (Robert Ammirati)

Nicaragua
- The Waunaba and Ngobe people have ‘Chinese’ DNA (post Bering Straits migration).
Nicaraguan Miskito Indians tell of Sumo (sometimes spelled Suma) people, who have strong linguistic and physical similarities to Orientals. Miskitos believe Sumo came to the Americas to escape Chinese cannibals. (E. Turner)

Belize
- Aboriginals in Belize have the same names as Chinese ie Chen and Zhou. They also physically look like new immigrants from China and Taiwan. Local explanation says they came from China more than 2000 years ago yet maybe some are descendants of Zheng He’s fleet to keep their names as Chinese (Jeff Cho)
- Ceramic pottery with Asian writing found in the large Mayan ruins in Belize – Anthony Menichini
- Blue and White Chinese porcelain found at Cays near Danriga, Belize – Walter H. Ziegler
Costa Rica Taken from the following article: “The Ten most puzzling artifacts”:
http://paranormal.about.com/library/weekly/aa011402a.htm?1
Giant Stone Balls of Costa Rica – Workmen hacking and burning their way through the dense jungle of Costa Rica to clear an area for banana plantations in the 1930s stumbled upon some incredible objects: dozens of stone balls, many of which were perfectly spherical. They varied in size from as small as a tennis ball to an astonishing 8 feet in diameter and weighing 16 tons! Although the great stone balls are clearly man-made, it is unknown who made them, for what purpose and, most puzzling, how they achieved such spherical precision.” These balls appear to be similar to many others found dotted around the world in New Zealand, Canada, North Dakota etc. (Nick Chooi)
