Consequences of Albertin de Virga’s Map
By 1428 the Portuguese knew of the correct shape of the world (refer to Antonio Galvao’s accounts on pp. 138 of English version of 1421) They knew of the routes:
i) Around the Cape to China (this explains why the Portuguese spurned Columbus.)
ii) To Australia
In each of these places we have found (through visitors to our website) that the Portuguese established secret colonies – in N. Australia 250 years before Captain Cook; in N. America 70 years before Columbus; in S. America 50 years before Cabral. This explains how the Portuguese knew of S. America before the Treaty of Tordesillas.
